We're a small, family company happy keeping things simple. We shape and finish all of our boards by hand and only have time to finish 2-3 boards per week. So unfortunately we don't offer wholesale.
+ Do you sell accessories?
Yes we do, for online purchases there is a minimum order of $5000, but you can stop by our shop and pay in cash, no minimum required. Browse our accessories in stock.
Materials
+ What materials do you use for your boards?
Each of our boards is unique. They are wire cut from a polystyrene blank, shaped by hand, glassed strong with US fiberglass and epoxy resin (6/6/4 oz on top and 6 oz on the bottom). They are not mass produced in China and aren't vacuum bagged or pop out boards.
+ What is the difference between epoxy and polyester resin?
Polyester resin has been used in the industry since the 1960's. We believe it is time to think about the environment. The epoxy resin we use gives off only 0.02% of the toxins that polyester resin does. Epoxy boards are lighter and stronger.
+ Does an epoxy board feel different when I ride it?
Yes, it is a little more "floaty" but like any new board, after riding it a few times you get used to it and begin to love it.
+ Are epoxy boards as strong as polyester boards?
After test riding and experimenting with the different materials available, we have come up with a combination of foam density and glass weight that is durable yet light for surfing the heavy waves of Puerto Escondido. They are just as strong, if not stronger than most of the "traditional" boards. We do not compromise the quality of your board to cut corners in producing cost, we use only the highest quality materials.
Help with Gear
+ How do I install my FCS Fusion fins?
Using the fin key, partly loosen all the screws in the boxes or plugs.
The fin with both sides rounded is the center fin, side fins have a rounded side and a flat side. Rounded side goes to the rails, flat side to the stringer or center of the board.
For FCS Fusion fins (two tabs in a peanut shaped box), drop the heads of the fins straight into the plug.
Tighten the screws securely but don't over do it or you will strip the screw.
Gently wiggle each fin to make sure it doesn't move.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to call or email and we can walk you through the process.
+ How do I install my Future fins?
Using the fin key, partly loosen all the screws in the boxes or plugs.
The fin with both sides rounded is the center fin, side fins have a rounded side and a flat side. Rounded side goes to the rails, flat side to the stringer or center of the board.
For Futures fins (one rectangular box), place the back part of the fin into the box (it should be pointing toward the tail of the board). Pull the fin toward the back of the box where it will latch. Once latched, press down and forward to insert the front part of the fin.
Tighten the screws securely but don't over do it or you will strip the screw.
Gently wiggle each fin to make sure it doesn't move.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to call or email and we can walk you through the process.
+ How do I install my Single Long Box?
For Single Fin (Fin will have a screw and fin plate), unscrew the plate from the screw and place the plate in the forward part of the box.
Tighten the screw securely but don't over do it or you will strip the screw.
Gently wiggle the fin to make sure it doesn't move.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to call or email and we can walk you through the process.
+ How do I wax my new surfboard?
With surfboards, unlike snowboards, you wax the deck of the board, not the fin side. You should always start with a good base coat for the first time waxing. It is harder and lasts longer than Cold, Warm, or Tropical wax. We carry Sexwax Base Coat. Push down and rub in small circular patterns forming bumps. Cover the back 3/4 of the board, unless you want to noseride, then do the whole deck.
You'll need a top coat for stickiness. Here in Mexico, choose tropical wax if you're surfing mainland Mexico and cold wax for Baja. We have Tropical Sticky Bumps in the shop. This coat will be easier to apply because the wax is softer. You can apply this with long strokes, or circles like the basecoat whichever you prefer.
